MedAire Training

Maintaining crew health, decreasing medical costs and mitigating risks are the ultimate goals of MedAire’s onboard total health management solution, comprised of:

Crew medical training is customized and flexible to fit the unique challenges of mariners. Whether a participant’s background includes basic first aid, medical person in charge or no medical training at all, MedAire will prepare them to quickly and confidently address onboard medical events.

Students learn to place IV catheters.                                  Students learn to administer CPR and use an AED.

Preparedness is paramount to operational safety excellence. That’s why a MedAire maritime representative consults with vessel owners and ship management to determine objectives, requirements and resources before coursework begins.

MedAire’s training ensures mariners are prepared through theory-based learning and practical application scenarios. Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Synchronize and optimize all available resources during an onboard medical event (i.e., calling your medical advisory service, finding pharmaceutical supplies, recalling first aid techniques, etc.)
  • Recognize and cope with illness and injury (i.e., asthma, burns, cardiac arrest, choking, shock, etc.)
